Making doula care accessible to every woman in the Roaring Fork Valley
The Double Helix Doula Project’s mission is to empower women through birth and for life—from being supported through their own transformative birth experience to supporting others through theirs.

How we do it:
Our innovative program revolutionizes doula access for any woman who needs it.
Open access
Our program provides any laboring woman who walks into the hospital access to a doula
Sustainable Doula Model
Our shift-based system ensures continuous hospital coverage while providing doulas with reliable, paid employment for their essential work
Childcare Support for Doulas
“Childcare doulas” will be trained to care for doulas’ children during births, providing them with necessary flexibility
Community Empowerment
Women will be trained to support their communities—women in recovery serving those with substance use challenges, Latina doulas serving Latina mothers
Diverse Doula Workforce
Women of all ages and backgrounds will be trained to become doulas, creating a team that reflects the diversity of the Roaring Fork Valley
The Double Helix Doula Project is more than a program; it’s the beginning of a movement of women supporting women through the transformative journey of birth.
Join us in bringing this vision to life.
